Held at the St James Hall, 3214 West 10th Avenue. Thanks to all the good people who, back in December, made our fundraiser for this project such a success. Steve Charles has put his heart and soul into this multi-band CD that features six of Vancouver's hottest young Bluegrass and Old-Time bands. See the Rogue Folk Club site for more info & tix. The bands are: Dyad, an internationally recognized trio specializing in haunting Appalachian fiddle and clawhammer music; The Mountain Bluebirds, three gals, three guys that tour nationally and play good clean bluegrass; The Breakmen, some serious songwriting and musicianship here (they are rising stars-check them out), Plough (no website), an old-time quartet with bittersweet harmonies; Viper Central, a six-piece alt-grass ensemble, and Steven's band, Redgrass.

SPRUCE MEADOWS EQUESTRIAN CENTRE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT

Friday, June 8th - Sunday, June 10th - "The National" at Spruce Meadows Equestrian Center, Highway 22X. We play two shows at day as part of a music festival that happens on the grounds at the same time as this long-standing show jumping event. A whole bunch of bands are playing on a variety of stages. This is a great 'fun for the whole family' type event. Our show times are:

Friday - 5:15 - 6:15 pm and 7:30 - 8:30 pm

Saturday - 1:30 - 2:30 pm and 3:15 - 4:15 pm

Sunday - 11:30 - 12:30 pm and 3:00 - 4:00 pm

7 pm (doors at 6 pm). Calgary Irish Cultural Centre, 6452 - 35th Ave NW. An amazing theatre for concerts and the new home base for the Society. Tickets are $20 at the door.

Cost: $20 at the door. The evening will feature six of Vancouver's hottest young Bluegrass and Old-Time bands and reflect our vibrant acoustic music scene. The bands are:

The show is a fundraiser to release a compilation CD in the spring. It will be a great show, high quality songwriting, and fierce musicianship. 

We had such a rockin' time last year at Stampede we're doing it all over again. Currently booking gigs at pubs, pancake breakfasts, corporate parties...you name it, we'll play it. Call us for availability. And all you Twin Butters, we'll be seing you again real soon!

Time tbd. The third annual MAIN STREET DAYS are happening at Main and 28th in Vancouver. All sorts of stuff happening up and down the street with a stage set up on 28th Avenue - a variety of bands playing music all afternoon.

Show starts at 8:30 pm and costs $5 for non-legion-ites (free for Legion 179 members). We're proud to be playing this, the inaugural concert for the Legion bar so it's going to be a humdinger of a show!

PACIFIC BLUEGRASS & HERITAGE SOCIETY

SPRINGRASS presented by the PBHS. 7:30 start at the Anza, 4 West 7th Avenue. Also performing is the Still Blue and Fiddler's Kitchen.

Century Gardens Stage: 12:15-12:45 and 1-1:30 pm. Held at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts (6450 Deer Lake Avenue) from 9:30 am - 4 pm, this 17th annual festival is expected to draw 5000 guests throughout the day with displays and craft projects like pot painting, flower making and horticultural interest.

Main & 27th. Show at 9 pm.
